Born from the love of sailing and teaching, Newport Sailing Lessons began out of a need.
Time and time again we were asked "how can we learn how to sail?" by weekend visitors or day trippers to Newport.
With no time to wait for the next classroom session to begin or desire to spend three days in a classroom, the visitors were left with no where to learn.
Newport Sailing Lessons was founded for those that want to learn to sail quickly without any wasted time.
We believe in getting you underway and sailing right away, on a real, adult-sized vessel.
That's the Newport Sailing Lessons way! We Hope you agree!
Captain Kate learned to sail right here in the Narragansett Bay. A Rhode Island native, she spent her childhood summers sailing and going to the beach in Narragansett Bay and Newport.
Kate spent six years active duty Navy where she was stationed onboard guided missile destroyers and stood watch as Officer of the Deck.
Kate returned home to Rhode Island where she worked as a deckhand on Schooner Aquidneck before setting sail with Hope and Newport Sailing Lessons.
She is thrilled to be able to share her love of sailing with others.
